Pandit BhimsenJi

Sir,

Shirabaage Vandesuve nimage Pandit Maharaj. Your singing will remain with us, with your mortal leaving us on 24th Jan.
Tuned to the Carnatic Music from childhood, you made me realize how powerful Hindustani Music is. Your singing didn't let me analyze anything, but dis-spelled the truth that music is the simplest way to attain bliss ful state. The tantalizing, mantric effect of your singing made a novice in music, gave a feel of confidence and achievement. The intricate alapane was rendered with such effect and ease, wondered if Gandharvas, themselves considered re-learning from you.
During my childhood days, Hindustani Alapane would put me to sleep easily. It was a casual radio programme that grabbed my attention to the alap followed by a bhajan. This was captivating enough to get hooked to your singing.
The abhangs in your Kutcheri always made me get the lyrics. Probably, Bhagyada Lakshmi Baramma Cassette would have been played in our house for more than 100th time. In the pretext of teaching my daughter, got the opportune to learn Kailaasa Vasa Gowrisha Eesha. Every time, Kailaashewara descended down on one's own imagination through the song.
'Nambedheninna' was an order without choice for surrendering to Her. Here, the song personification, would dance in front of the eyes like a Nada river.

Nada Sarvagna Mattomme Huttiba, Ninna Kaayuthale, ninna Jenudhwaneya nadavannu keLuthaleruva...
